We run a garden basket scheme for locals and guests. If you live locally and would like to join the scheme, please get in touch.
Weekly Vegetable Boxes for Bradford on Avon and Beyond
If you live in the local Bradford on Avon area, why not sign up our weekly vegetable box scheme and cut down on food miles? You can select a basket of fresh picked Woolley produce once a week from the Potting Shed shop. The produce is grown to organic standards in our Walled Garden and in our field over the road. You’ll also get a pretty bunch of flowers from our cutting garden in the orchard.
We ask for a £20 deposit for a lovely handwoven basket, which will then be yours to keep for the whole time you are a member of the scheme.
You will be refunded this deposit if you cancel your membership and return the basket, or you can choose to keep the basket. It then costs £12 or £20 a week, depending on the amount of produce that you would like to receive. The larger basket is enough to feed a family of four or a couple who like a lot of fresh vegetables. The smaller basket is ideal for single or dual households.
The produce selection varies according to the season but current examples include leafy salad packs (in compostable bags), leafy greens, heritage tomatoes, courgettes, carrots, beans, generous bunches of herbs, apples, garlic, chillies, staples like potatoes and onions or shallots, as well as garden flowers. There is usually a choice of items available.
Our gardening philosophy
We are not certified organic, but we grow in a sustainable way and without the use of pesticides. We also do lots to encourage wildlife like growing native wildflowers in the field to attract pollinating insects. We improve the fertility and structure of the soil by adding huge amounts of organic matter to produce a lovely rich, deep soil for growing in and hope this is reflected in the flavour and quality of our veggies!
