We highly recommend at trip to the Roman Baths to really take you back in time. Excellent displays and audio guides (for both adults and children) bring this ancient wonder alive. Well worth the ticket!
2. Walk the Bath Skyline
The National Trust have done a great job of linking and improving footpaths and walkways to open this 6 mile circular route to all. Just a short stroll from the city centre, enter another world of the skyline hills above Bath, meadows and ancient woodlands to secluded valleys. You'll get some great views of Bath from above.
See route here.
3. Relax in Prior Park
Another gem from the National Trust. The park is on the Woolley side of Bath and is a peaceful spot for a picnic (ask us the night before and we can pack one up for you in the morning). Here you can view one of the few remaining Palladian bridges.
4. Explore Bath's Museums
Bath really spoils the visitor with its museums. There's something for everyone and many of them run children's activities throughout the holidays. Dress up in period costume at the Museum of Fashion and the Jane Austen centre; get into art at the Holburne Museum or the Victoria Art Gallery; learn all about American history at the American Museum; enjoy architecture at the Museum of Bath Architecture...or just walk the streets admiring the Circus, Pulteney Bridge, and the numerous Georgian Crescents.

This country city is known for its fabulous parks and green squares. We can think of no place better to enjoy a family picnic than Victoria Park where you can sit below the Royal Crescent and imagine what life was like 250 years ago!
6. Take a boat trip down the River Avon.
See Bath from as different angle at water level. You can take a one hour boat trip from Pulteney Bridge on the River Avon or try a day's boat hire either on the river or the Kennet and Avon canal. If you fancy boating from Bradford on Avon along the canal to Bath take a 4 hour boat cruise from the lockside or hire your own narrowboat for the day. Ask at reception for more details.

If you are lucky enough to have the wind heading in the right direction you may get to fly directly over the city and see the Roman Baths, the Thermae Bath Spa or Pulteney Bridge. Depending on wind direction your balloon ride may take you over the Cotswolds, the Mendips, or even a gentle progression along the historic Kennet and Avon Canal. The experience takes 3-4 hours from Bath.
