Children
Children are a very important part of life at Woolley. The Woolley Bears Den is open all day, every day (supervised from 10am - 4.45pm) – we have a variety of eating options for young and older children and also a wide variety of things to do. There is an outdoor play area, children's croquet, bikes, outdoor table tennis, football nets, board games, Play Station Two in the Long Room and of course an outdoor heated pool in the summer months.
Woolley Bears Den
Woolley Bears Den is our supervised Ofsted registered playroom in the
red brick coaching house at the back of the main house.
Children are encouraged to spend time playing freely. We have a vast
array of puzzles, Lego, Duplo, favourite character toys, dressing-up
outfits, dolls houses and dolls!
As the Woolley Bears Den is all about fun for little people, we have
purposely not over-structured children's time but we do provide activities
on request. There are often special activities arranged during holiday
periods such as painting and crafts, especially with a seasonal theme.
Spring, summer, Bonfire Night and Christmas are all favourites and
the walls of the Den are decorated with wonderful works of art created
by our little guests.
Quiet time is important too and there is a cosy corner with bean bags
and an endless supply of DVD’s and videos or music to just relax to, especially after a tiring journey. We are also very happy to arrange specific activities on request.
We ask that parents “deliver” and “collect” their children and use the signing in register when leaving their children in the nannies care, making the nannies aware of any allergies or medical conditions. A contact mobile telephone number is also essential if parents are planning to be “off site”.
The facility is normally open from 7.00am (ish) until late. Although the nannies
supervise from 10.00am until 4.45pm, it is unsupervised play during mealtimes.
We recommend the Den for tiny ones up to 8 years and it is a real treasure trove
of activities for our younger guests.
The Hen House
The Hen House is our unsupervised den for older children. Located next to the
outdoor play equipment it is a great place for older children to escape and chill
out with friends. Inside is an air hockey machine, pool table and tabletop football,
all great fun. Mum and Dad can even join in too, if they let you in of course!
In the grounds, we have the wonderful heated outdoor swimming pool, a giant trampoline,
table tennis and lots of ball games available - an endless supply of things to
keep everyone occupied for hours.
Please can we request that parents are aware that Woolley Grange and the surrounding land contain various potential hazards for young children, including the pond and swimming pool. Children should be supervised at all times in risk areas. Woolley Grange cannot be held responsible for the safety of unsupervised children.
